Romantic Dinners in Paris Cooking Class

What a fun night!  as we did indeed Parlez Francais with our Cuisine.  Patricia started the evening demonstrating some cooking techniques while balancing on her crutches.

She showed how to roll out a pastry dough, make a bechamel sauce and use the Cuisinart to slice a potato in literally a second.   

The five teams went on to create amazing classic French dishes.   The mini-vegetable quiches were gobbled up as soon as they came out of the oven.  Then we sat down for a meal to remember.   Steak au Poivre Vert balanced with Haricots Vert.  Saumon en Croute sauced with Buerre Blanc served aside Roasted Asparagus.  Creamy Dauphinoise Potatoes with a nutty Gruyere cheese….and the grand finale – airy Chocolate Souffles that melted in your mouth.  The presentations were all so sophisticated and the food was delicious.

I made the Chocolate Souffles again last night for my Valentine.  I’d love to hear whether you too made any of the dishes for your Valentine(s).
