Pies & Tarts Cooking Class – November 8, 2012

Apple Pie with a cinnamon and sugar flaky pie crust

“As American as apple pie” is a common saying, but how common is it for Americans to know how to make an apple pie?…not so common, I’m afraid.  So my goal is to teach a few more people how to make an apple pie along with a flaky pie crust.  The secret to a really great pie is a homemade flaky pie crust made with both butter for flavor and shortening for easier handling.  Come learn the secrets of making pies with us on Thursday, November 8, 6:00 – 9:00 pm at the Holy Nativity Community Hall and take home one of your own homemade pies to impress your family and friends.  Then, you will be ready to make your own pie at home for Thanksgiving Day.

Class fee $40 when you reserve by November 5, $45 at the door.    To reserve your spot,  email Patricia@FreshFoodinaFlash.com .  Then write a check to “Fresh Food in a Flash”; mail it to Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, Cooking Class,  6700 West  83rd Street, Westchester, CA  90045.
