I was thrilled to get the word that I had been selected by Rancho La Puerta’s executives to be one of six new cooking teachers at “The Ranch’s” La Cocina Que Canta cooking school in 2015.  I will be the guest chef at “The Ranch” the week of January 17, 2015.  I had the amazing good fortune to be invited by my friend, Natalie to attend Rancho La Puerta for the first time in December.  As anyone who has been there will tell you, it is a magical experience.  You leave your city life behind and find an oasis of calm, serenity, healthfulness, fellowship and most important…delicious gourmet spa food that is good for you. It can be life changing or just change your outlook on the year ahead.  I wrote about my experience there in two blogposts, which I hope you will read.  Check them out here:

Before planning my menu for the two cooking classes I will be teaching at La Cocina Que Canta, I first want to thank all my students and fans who voted for me. This is an amazing honor.  I am excited to teach others about healthy “Fresh Food in a Flash” in this incredible setting.  There is a huge garden just outside the doors of La Cocina Que Canta, “the Kitchen that Sings”.  We will have fresh winter veggies to play with.  I’m imagining beets, carrots, potatoes, greens, leeks, winter squash and many more wonderful varieties to choose from.  Would you like to join us for the week of January 17 at Rancho La Puerta??  It’s a one-hour drive from the San Diego airport, where you can hop on the Rancho La Puerta shuttle.  Those who voted for me received a special two-for-one rate and I hope some of you will be able to take advantage of this and plan a “girls or couple getaway”.   For more information on Rancho La Puerta, click here.
