Yikes! Thanksgiving is around the corner and with it pie season as I think of it. Our annual Pies and Tarts Cooking Class will be held on Thursday, November 14, 6:00 – 9:00 at the Holy Nativity Community Hall in Westchester. Every year I find five new pie recipes to make and this season, we’ve got some delicious choices. Here’s what’s on the menu.
- French Apple Galette
- Chocolate Caramel Hazelnut Pie
- Pumpkin Kahlua Pie
- Key Lime Pie
- Cranberry-Pear Streusel Pie
In addition to making one of these pies, you will learn how to make an easy flaky pie crust that your family will rave about. In this class you will bake up your own pie to take home, while tasting nibbles among the class.
Patricia K. Rose, of Fresh Food in a Flash will lead a hands-on cooking class on Thursday, November 14, 2013, 6:00-9:00 at the Holy Nativity Community Hall in Westchester. We’ll be serving up a savory pie for dinner while we bake our dessert pies.
Class fee $40 when you reserve by November 11, $45 at the door. To reserve your spot, email Patricia@FreshFoodinaFlash.com . Then write a check to “Fresh Food in a Flash”; mail it to Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, Cooking Class, 6700 West 83rd Street, Westchester, CA 90045.
