Let’s Barbecue together at our next cooking class on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Holy Nativity Community Hall in Westchester. Summer dining al fresco is a tradition I relish every year with friends and family. Let’s make the most of a fun summer and barbecue some delicious dishes, then dine al fresco together on July 12.
A summer tradition that everyone enjoys whether you were a Camp Fire Girl (I was), or a Girl or Boy Scout is making S’Mores. We’re going to glam up our S’Mores by baking them in the oven into cupcakes. I was inspired by some of the new cookbooks I’ve been given recently, The Camp & Cabin Cookbook and Project Fire.
Here’s what’s on the menu:
- Smoky Avocado Toast with grilled avocado and tomatoes from Laura Bashar’s “The Camp & Cabin Cookbook”
- Long Weekend Grilled Salad from Angela Liddon’s “The Oh She Glows Cookbook”
- Grilled Plum Quinoa Pilaf with Mint, Lime and Feta from Laura Bashar’s “The Camp & Cabin Cookbook”
- Bool Kogi Beef Kebabs in a Korean marinade and Chinatown Barbecue Sauce from Steven Raichlen’s “Project Fire Cookbook”.
- S’mores Brownie Cupcakes with a Marshmallow Meringue Frosting from Sally’s Baking Addiction.
Patricia K. Rose, of Fresh Food in a Flash, will lead this hands-on cooking class on Thursday, July 12, 2018, 6:00-9:30 at the newly remodeled Holy Nativity Community Hall in Westchester. Once we complete the cooking, sit down and enjoy a meal you and your new friends made together with a glass of wine.
Cooking Class fee $55 when you reserve by July 9, $65 thereafter if space available. To reserve your spot, email Patricia@FreshFoodinaFlash.com. Classes take place at Holy Nativity Community Hall, 6700 West 83rd Street, Westchester, CA 90045.
